Default Refills

Acceptable:
- Pitcher refill at table.
- New, full glass brought to table to replace a glass that is less than half full.

Grounds for murder:
- Half full glass taken away from table and brought back filled 5 minutes later.

Agreed.... except taking away half full and returning to table could be acceptable if it's a free refill of alcohol. =)

When I waited tables we were taught to bring a new glass everytime, and we got chided if we took away a glass to refill it.

The angriest a refill has ever made me was when some snooty manager or something who was walking around the restaurant talking into a headset filled up my half-completed Sprite with water and kept walking away. I hate that guy.

Reminds me of the time I had the most perfect cup of Iced Tea with just the right amount of sweetener and lemon that was just over half full and the f*cking waitress came by and took my glass and filled it with the tea from the pitcher right in front of me.

I was devastated!
