Button has been smartly aggressive. He's done this before with A4. I am likely ahead of his range, but not by much.
SB is on the tight side and will likely not risk getting 3rd chips without a very good hand (AJ+, 77+). Call or find a better spot? If better spot, how good of a hand do I need to call? sng 9 player pokerstars $25+2 if stakes matter PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t600 with t50 antes (3 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com Button (t6120) SB (t3640) Hero (t3740) Preflop: Hero is in BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Button raises to t4200, SB folds, Hero ? |

i would fold this one - This is a great hand for pushing but not calling.
I think i would need something like AJ to call here. |

suppose you somehow knew you were a 60:40 favorite if you call. how big of an edge do you need to call?

I personally think playing for 2nd is dumb. Third is 20% of pool, 2nd is 50% more than that and 1st is 150% more than that.
If you fold here, I think you're playing for second. I'd call and move on or take it down...one or the other. |
