Weird move?

I'm a bit new to MTT's so I wanted to hear if this is totally crazy.

Partypoker 15K Gtd Rebuy + addon. Rebuy still possible.

Stacksizes:

UTG 3525
UTG+1 6550
MP 12205
CO 11254
SB 19845
Hero 4400

Blinds are 50/100.

UTG, UTG+1, MP, CO, SB all limp. Hero pushes.

I've done this with AK before, but the stacks were more shallow (though the push was still an overbet). There were so many limpers that I didn't think I could get it heads up without a significant bet which would commit me on the flop. So I just pushed.

I don't think you're in this situation though. Stacks are too deep. Raise to 600. If you have something like AA, you are leaving money on the table by pushing this. Every now and then you will get called and double up. But, over the long run, you're losing money with this move.

EDIT: i didn't notice this was a rebuy. Let me guess, you pushed, doubled up, and some guy called you a donkey.

Any hand that calls you has you beat. Call here, and see your flop....you're definitely priced in. Save your push for a better hand.

Push this. Push any 2 suited connectors. Push 2 Broadways. Push pocket pairs. The point of a rebuy is to amass as many chips as possible in the rebuy period, assuming you are a +EV player once the rebuy period is over. Yes you will run into 4-1s, but by essentially paying for a bigger stack, if you are a good player you can crush the tournament post rebuy period when donkeys have tons of chips and spew.
