I am not sure it is because " THEY ARE GIVING THE HOUSE AWAY"

[/ QUOTE ]

Sure it is. Pre- house funded beat, rake reductions and $500k freeroll, it was a $20m 4-8 room. With those things, it now resembles the Mirage pre-competition, i.e. an actual room.

obviously giving it away is what kickstarted it, but Don's got a point. I've put my 50 hours in there all in the last week, and I'd say at least half the players I encountered were tourists (more locals during the day, more tourists at night). The action has been very good, and I think they may have hit critical mass, I wouldn't be surprised to see it continue post-giveaway. I know I plan to keep playing there as long as the action is good.

It is obvious that it is because they are 'giving the house away'.

What will tell the story is whether or not the company is willing to throw away 1/2 of a million dollars every quarter.

Since that would equal 2 million dollars a year, and only one card room takes that to the bottom line every year, they would have to do what Wynn has done - say they are willing to lose money in order to have a crowded poker room.

Horrible business, stupid planning, and a waste of time if they continue on this path.

It's like saying you like hookers, so you'll stay at the Mirage because the bar where the hookers hang out is located near the poker room.

Thanks for the info my friend. I love to play any place with scenery. I can lear at the eye candy and not feel the least bit disappointed with my 35th consecutive preflop fold. Mirage it is although on Thursday night/Friday morning the Venetian had a nice looking lady playing in some sort of bikini/panty thing that kept me occupied during my card dry session. Keep that kinda info coming!!!!
