Default 3 Hands from tonight\'s session

Hand 1: Villain is typical TAG at like 17/11/2. Is this flop call too marginal? Is there a fold anywhere after I hit on the turn?

hand 1: the flop call is iffy... if you do hit the k on the turn and you are ahead, villain will slowdown if he doesn't himself have the Q... and if he does have the Q when that king comes he's filled up a reasonable amount of the time... i think i call here myself, but looking at it objectively i think this could be a fold...

on the turn i lead out here, it allows me to see exactly how much villain likes his hand while it doesn't expose me to a 3-bet... as played i don't see a fold possible (i don't see a fold possible period)

hand 2: i absolutely hate when i get check raised on that turn... i'd play exactly the same way, but i'd be interested to see if some people recommend a fold on that turn check-raise, I myself just enter call down mode on the turn and pray for JJ in this large of a pot...

hand 3: being somewhere around six outs give or take, I peel one off

Hand 1: You are getting 5:1 pre-flop, so I think the call is ok. I'd fold the flop--that draw sucks.

Hand 2: I'd play it the same way.

Hand 3: Fold pre-flop. On the flop, you are getting 12.5:1--I think you only have about 4 outs--so I guess a call is warranted. But yuck. Turn, fold.

i'm only going to comment on hand one as my brain is not big enough to think about three hands at once (or, i'm too lazy to do so). one very important rule of thumb in poker at smaller limits with lesser players is to exploit big advantages and generally eschew marginal situations. why? well, i think the answer is obvious to the money driven player. MAYBE some weak argument can be developed for calling the flop (come to think of it-it has to be a VERY crappy argument), but, why on earth would you want to? even if the prayed for miracle king doesn't make a boat, the board is very boaty and one could easily form on the river...throw the cards away...even at one table online, you can play over 50 hands an hour...pick your spots that will make you money...
