You don't. You could make the plots in Excel, but they'd also be easy enough to just draw by hand.

This whole thing should take about 15 minutes.

Here's my help...

2a. (24-2x)*(18-2x)*x=Volume.

4a. equation is 6+8*(x-1). So 200th term is 6+199*8=1598
4b. Easy way to get the sum is to average the 450th and 451st term and multiply by 900.
So ((6+8*449)+(6+8*450))/2*900=3,241,800

I can't believe you people are helping this kid cheat on his homework.

I'm not sure if I'm more surprised that people are helping the kid cheat on his homework or that so many posters are bad at 10th grade math...

I have no clue why this kid deserves help, but I'm bored:

1) a) w = 33 - (0.0393)(33 - 4)(12.36 + 6.13 root 40 - 0.32(40)) = -10.684 C
b) T = (W-33)/((0.0393)(12.36 + 6.13 root v - 0.32v)))+33 = ((-15)-33)/((0.0393)(12.36 + 6.13 root 20 - 0.32*20)))+33 = -3.596 C

2) a)V = (18-2x)(24-2x)x = 432x - 84x^2 + 4x^3, (0<x<9)
b) tracing a graphing calc gives - x~3.4 (Setting the first derivative = 0 gives (7 - Sqrt13) = 3.3944)

3) Row i has 19+2i seats. Total number of seats = Sum(19+2i) {from i=1 to n} = 19n + 2*Sum i {from i=1 to n} = 19n + 2*((n+1)n/2) = 20n+n^2. [Recall Sum(i) {from i = 1 to n} = n(n+1)/2]
Solving for 20n+n^2 = 800 gives n=20 rows(or n=-40 which can be tossed)
The last row therefore has 19+2*20=59 seats

4) The sequence is 8x-2
a) 200th term is 8(200)-2 = 1598
b) Sum of first 900 is Sum(8i-2) {from i=1 to 900} = 8*(Sum i {from i=1 to 900})-2*900 = 8*(900)*(901)/2-1800 = 3,241,800

5)tan(82.4) = opp/adj = tree/35; tree = 35*tan(82.5) = 265.85 ft

6) y = 4Sin((Pi(x-2))/3)+3 (replace Pi with 180 if you wish to use degrees instead of radians)

7) IS this supposed to be a couple fractions?
2r_____5 (take out the _____)
----- + ----- = 4
r - 1 _ r + 5

If it means 2r/(r-1) + 5/(r+5) = 4 then the answer is:
2r(r+5)+5(r-1)=4(r-1)(r+5)
2r^2+15r-5 = 4r^2+16r-20
2r^2+r-15 = 0
(r+3)(2r-5) = 0
r = -3 or 5/2

8) Law of cosines: c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab*Cos C
a= 12.5, b= 6.8, C = 70
c = 12.014cm

Does this kid even understand what a variable is? Number 1 is basic addition/multiplication.
