JTo in BB hits, scary board, back off?
A couple of questions about this hand. Was I too aggressive on the flop? Was I right to call the turn and the river or should I have bailed?
Pacific Poker 2/4 - 7 handed. Villain is 14.4/5.6/2.9 after 320 hands. Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero checks. Flop: (3 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, Hero raises , MP1 folds, SB 3-bets, Hero caps. Turn: (5.5 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero calls River: (7.5 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 9.5 BB BTW, someone needs to create a hand converter that supports Pacific. Doing this manually is a pain. |

Re: JTo in BB hits, scary board, back off?
The pot is unraised and tiny when the flop hits the table.
I would just call the flop bet and see what the turn brings/consider raising the turn. |

You wouldn't be afraid of the straight or flush? Do you call this to the river always?

Why is raising/capping the flop bad? Small pot or large pot, hero has top 2.... I play it the same here. Haupt_234 |

I would just call the flop bet [/ QUOTE ] The draw heavy board is precisely why villain has to hit flop hard, a bet to his right is perfect for him. I call this one down at Pacific, I've seen so much crazy stuff there, by far the best site on the net. I'd fold it up live though, prolly on the turn. JT |

I would just call the flop 3-bet and see what the turn brings/consider raising the turn. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: JTo in BB hits, scary board, back off?
i would just call down after the 3 bet. or i would cap and call down after the lead but seriously consider folding the river depending on how villain viewed me and if i had been folding much and if i had seen villain get out of line at all in past hands. he seems to be trying bet/3bet the turn.

Re: JTo in BB hits, scary board, back off?
Ugh. You cap the flop and he comes out firing!?! Top two is not looking too good here. But, it is hard to fault your aggression. Do you have an idea of your image with this villain?
Seems like you've got enough hands on this villain to figure that he's not indiscriminantly aggro. 77, 89, or 89s look to be some likely hands here. But very hard to get away from this hand. |
