How many buy ins can one lose with under flushes?
I'm still relatively new to poker but consider myself a knowledgable player. Four of the last six flushes I have made have been under-flushes. One flush was beat by a single over, but the rest were a better both suited cards hand. And worse, I pressed them very strong. Am I going too far with my middle suited connectors when I flop a flush draw? I've noticed a pattern of opponent bet 1/3 pot, I raise to 4/5 pot, then opponent calls on flop. Does this line mean "I'm holding a suited ace" every time?! Noticed this at different levels ...less in the higher the money level as preflop raises tend to scare the suited aces out.

I think this is more of a NL hold-em question.
Sounds like your running bad. Another thing... what posistion are you playing suited connectors from? |

Re: How many buy ins can one lose with under flushes?
P.S. I use to run into the same issue in NL and limit.
These days I much prefer playing small suited aces. That way you have the nut flush draw, wheel draws, and when you do flop 2 pair, AK will pay you off till the cows come home. I love A3 suited... i dread 10-J or 8-9 suited. |

Usually have position, sometimes with suited broadways I don't. I play suited aces too, but what do I do with my 78s in position, surely not fold?!
