When someone plays BJ in a casino, are they gambling?

I think they are.

When 2 parties are betting on the outcome of an unknown event, are they BOTH gambling?

Can one party BE gambling and the other NOT?

I don't think so.


So..

The person in the casino playing BJ IS gambling

Consequently the casino is ALSO gambling on that event.

The casio sometimes win's / sometimes loses. They have (as we know) a small edge. So over time they make a profit.

Where is the confusion as to whether or not BJ / poker / etc / etc is gambling?

This points again to what Sheridan has stated. Everyone gambles without even giving it considertion. It is the risk of loss which makes us as individuals question why we do or do not gamble.

If you feel your risk are out weighed (minimized) to non existance I can understand the question. On the other hand if you feel you cannot win because of the risk I can equally well understand the question.

Im willing to place a bet on the fact you will gamble anytime you play poker. Want to bet that you wont? [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

ask your ego.

i play poker but i will not bet in a coin flip game. cause i can outplay my opponents in poker. lol

good players get their money when the odds are their favour.
outcome is still uncertain.
