Default Doyle\'s Room

Has anyone else played on here?

I'm still not sure which is worst between the interface, the tournament structures, or the players. But I think I'm going to go with the players.

Played two tourneys tonight (both were tiny since no one but weird Euros play there apparently), but they were a joke.

The first was a $10NLHE with their typical 8 min blind levels. 90 runners at 1:30 and this meant that by the time we got to the bubble (which lasted FOREVER) avg stack was around 8xbb. There is a feast for anyone who is not particularly interested in the $12 profit. It was disgusting. One guy posted the 800 SB only to fold leaving himself t130 behind. 4 FROM THE MONEY! Truly donkalicious.

Anyway, I got a huge stack and pushbotted hardcore at FT and ended up finishing 2nd. Had 9xbb when HU at a 3:1 disadvantage and K9s < A2o. Oh well, $180 profit in what took literally like 2 hrs.

Next was $400 Guaranteed (LOL!) $10/1 LHE. 46 runners at 4:15 and while I didn't observe any cases of weak/tight play on the bubble, I did notice a few cases of not having any [censored] clue how to play poker. Like this is worse than PS play money must be. Took 1st place in 1hr37min for another $180ish.

Absolute joke. I'm sure there's plenty of room for getting pissed at the blind structure because there is absolutely no post-flop play after the first 10 minutes, but it actually reminds me of the typically horrid structure you get at most casino's for low buy-ins. So... good practice.

Anyway, I'm spreading the word on a goldmine (not to be confused with a LANDMINE - though there are tons of those there) of donks.

Doyle's Room doesn't offer any big tournaments as far as I know.

I'd actually be more interested in hearing about what people who've played frequently at Doyle's think of the site for tournaments.

This thread is really more the standard, "look at how cool I am" deal.

Doyle put out a lazy Super System II, which was basically Super System I with a few extras. He also put out an awful online poker book. This site does NOT sound strong either.

Thanks, I am super-dee-duper proud of winning what amounts to a 4-table SNG. I've never had a meaningful finish before this in my life. I am desperately seeking validation through small success at pitiful online poker tournaments. You sir can see my soul.

Back to non-[censored], they seem to have some higher buy-in tournaments (saw a $400 yesterday) but with usually only 5-7k users online, I think the problem is just filling tournaments like this. Then again, when FTP first started the fields were tiny, and even now that they're "big" the fields are still relatively small compared to Stars/Party.

Doyle's room links into the Tribeca network. He isn't responsible for what tournaments are offered or the blind structures. They just put a skin on top of the site with a few images of him and pay him some of the rake.

This site is a joke.

My first tourney since finishing top 2 in those and am now HU in a 3R with 253 entrants.

So to recap, the last 3 tourneys have been 2/90, 1/46, 1-2/253.

If you have ANY concept of how to play high blinds and know how to run over donks folding to the money, you're passing up free money.

HU my A5s loses to his 99, and then made a retarded push when I had 15xbb to his 25x or so, ran into AK no help.

2nd place for $380.

So I'm up like $700+ in 12 hrs never spending more than $11 on buyins.

Who in their right mind would make a post on a forum while HU at a final table?
