Good, bad or just plain FPS?

Ok, so I have an overpair, which is probably good, but will be killed by a lot of turns, so.. I decide to CHECK and let MP2 bluff away at it. Then I will donk bet any 'safe' turn.
Figuring this way I will win the most when ahead and lose the least when behind, at the cost of letting villain get a free card... I'm not prepared to go to war with this hand, and will let it go to a large flop bet or a turn raise.

Ok, so far so good. His call most likely means he's on a draw or thinks I'm FOA.

Ok, not so bad a card for me. If I bet again, worse hands will fold and better ones will call or raise.
So time to let him bluff his missed draw? Given the highly erratid nature of my play so far, he is probably putting me on air (A-high) and might bet any hand here.

I wouldn't really call any of this FPS, but it's pretty okay considering the read on the player. You can still bet the river, btw, as worse hands will call--just don't bet huge. Bet like 1/3rd the pot for value. If you check, and a T bets 22-24, it's tough to fold J's, but if you bet small, like 12, then get raised, you know you're not ahead. Also, by betting and not checking, you get smaller pairs who would check through to call.

That being said, I don't think its a bad line, in fact, i kind of like it, but I still don't think its optimal.

I just cant agree with checking that flop, I mean, 3/4 of the deack is a scare card to your hand. Given flop, I think turn is fine (even though your bet is slightly on the light side) and the rier play is certainly best

Just to make it clear: I bet this flop 95% of the time against two regular donks. I just think it was better to let him bluff at it in this particular situation.
The only case where I would have gotten more out of the hand by betting, I think, is when he has the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], and decides to raise somewhere along the hand. Only problem is that that would have made me fold what might well be the best hand. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
