Is pokersitescout.com for real?
This link popped up in the affiliates forum when everyone was trying to discourage the an OP from playing on WPEX.
PokerSiteScout It basically shows me that poker sites really only have about 1/10th of the players active on their site that they advertise. How can sites just blatantly lie about the number of active players on their site? |

For one thing, only cashgames are listed there. Add SnGs and MTTs and the number will grow quite a bit.

Some sites might also count a player playing at two tables as two players (just guesswork).

Re: Is pokersitescout.com for real?
In all fairness, I don't think the sites are lying, they're just using a very broad definition of "player." If you have their lobby screen open, you are a connected player no matter what you're actually doing. A big percentage of those players are playing freerolls and play money games.
The number of cash game players is inevitably going to be a much smaller number. Scout P.S. I don't suppose it makes much difference if I say "yes, the site is for real" but it is. You can do a spot-check by looking at the breakdown of players at a particular game and limit on any given site and compare that to the poker site's lobby. See if they're the same or about the same (the numbers change constantly so they might not be identical). |

Re: Is pokersitescout.com for real?
why do people care how many total players are on a site? If i go to a site and i see a good selection of the game that i play i am happy. I could care less how many people are playing the .01-.02 omaha8 games.
