I'm already looking foward to when the Michigan talent strolls over in a drunken mess, from what I understand that is somewhat of a regular occurance at the bars there too. That being said, seems to be mixed reviews of the casino. I'll definately have to check out Greektown and Motor City before I decided which one I'm gonna settle on, not sure how eager I am to cross the border numerous times a week. One thing for sure, the rake sounds bad. Even the session fee for NL is high, that is clearly gonna suck. Thanks again for the info!

My info is probably obselete (summer 05) but:

The rake is ridiculous out there for some reason.

Greektown was a dump (and man I miss it). It is boot camp for the poker world.

If you spread your play around, you might want to keep a Canadian Bankroll separate so you don't have to pay an exchange fee every session.

Everyone mentions the rake at Windsor being ridiculously high, but it sounds like it's the same as at Greektown and MC right? Unfortunately they have us by the balls around here w/ their high rake and silly bad beat jackpot.

the rakes struck me as really high.... are fallsview and niagara (both ontario, canada too) rakes that high?

$6 rake on 2-4 (or was it $3-$6?) is ridiculous. and i assume bad beat jackpot too .. i think most places i've played have been $3 rake and $1 bad beat..... i think you get to a point where games are not long-term beatable, and i think $6 rake is getting very close (also find there aren't too many completely clueless players anymore, just poor players now, but not ATM's like in the older days)

At casinos like that I think you have to be even more selective on your criteria for tipping dealers. I wouldn't necessarilly auto-tip like I do in card rooms that drop 4. If the dealers share their tips I'd be even more selective.

As for Free drinks, Forget about them in Canada.
It's illegal for an establishment to give away free booze.

There's no free booze anywhere except Vegas and AC.

The dealers share their tips with the whole casino if I am not mistaken. They are unionized

Whole place is filled with donks. I thought the high stakes NL was fine. I played in the uncapped 10/20 NL game 2 months ago and the game was awesome. They charged 8 bucks every half hour which was nothing compared to the 6 they charge at the 100max tables. Also the staff is clueless.
