Default $215 Speed Hand #1: Cont. bet against this maniac?

Should I cont. bet against this absolute maniac? He is about a 50/30/infinity crazy ridiculous maniac. If the flop was Q high and you had AK what would you do?

Any other way to play this?

K high flop is yours man - good cbet. Rainbow board so you can't get raised off a better hand. Also, your holding makes it less likely he has top pair with AK/KQ. If AK on Qxx board I generally delay cbet (or, if deep, fire two barrels, or fire flop, C/R turn) as most aggro players will view the Q as a blank making a flop bet less likely to fold out better hands.

Bad bet. Value bet the maniac. Keep it simple.
If anything, be looking for spots to let him bet and then push all in and off the junk he holds.

This was why I asked about the AK with Qxx board. There would be a better chance my hand is best and he is going to be a maniac and try to push me off of it. I would've shoved had that been the case.

I'm not sure Unarmed understands how big of a maniac villain is.

goggles,

i'm not even sure i'm in love with your preflop raise...

as is, yeah cbet this, even maniacs sometiems miss a Kxx flop. if you bet 1/2 pot, he has to fold 1/3 of the time for your bet to be good... but seriously. if he's a huge maniac, shouldn't there be a clue when he just calls preflop?

I raise PF too to around 250. If the guy is really insane and aggressive after the flop, then you might just want to check. In general this is a good flop to bet headsup though.

curtains,

when you say if he's insane and aggressive post flop is your intention when you say to check to him to check and fold?

why do you like the weak preflop raise? I don't understand why with AQ you don't make a real raise. What exactly does this 2.5 raise accomplish? Especially when looking at getting the BB out of the hand. BB is getting pretty good odds to call with a very wide range of hands to that raise preflop.
