is my hand too strong to lead out like this? at the time i didnt like the board, but on second thought i might like checking this flop better.
likely up against AK AT AJ - they all need to go runnerrunner to catch me. i cant seem to get this right-- should have checked.. I think you should have checked the flop, you have a monster with no flush draw and any possible straight is probably a gutshot.

what is villain calling preflop with? probably an ace or a pocket pair. if the board was more threatening, i'd make a bet like you did, but the hands that you are trying to extract value from most certainly missed this flop, and likely don't have any serious draws. i'd consider betting a little less, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 pot. even checking is an option--they may hit their 2 or 3 outer set or pair.

villain has at most four outs. if you check, he will be more tempted to bet, and you can put in a check/raise, extracting more outs.
also, wanted to note that in another hand you put in a min reraise with QQ, but here you put in a fat reraise. good stuff. |

In some spots like this I am tempted to check-call the flop. If the turn is a fairly safe card, I may check again hoping to push-reraise or just lead out depending on the player. This is not one of those situations, however. He could possibly have a hand like JJ or 10-10 and if the wrong card comes off giving him a straight you're in trouble. Even if he doesn't have JJ or 10-10, if a J or a 10 comes off you'll probably have to make a tough decision and you certainly can not play a big pot. You should definetely be betting this flop.
