PP 5/10 6max. Advice on ALL streets are welcome. My opponent is a regular, a tough player who is extremely aggressive in position (I_am_macbeth for those who play this game), he's about a 21/11/4.2. As usual, my image in this session is very LAG, capable of making very loose calls. I raise it up with 86dd, and get one call. I bet the flop and am immediately raised, near pot size. I decide to take one off, because I don't think it's likely he has a set here as he normally raises AK, KK preflop. Turn is a good card for me, making my flush. Now, what is the best action on the turn? If i lead the turn and am raised, what do I do? If i CR the turn, given these stack sizes, what hands can possibly call a CR? Note we are deep in this hand. What is the best line on the turn...and subsequently, assuming a blank river, in terms of maximizing value. I'm mainly interested in the turn action. I really donked up the river in this hand, but I'll post that later perhaps.
The way I played my hand does not make it look like a flush. HE is very aggressive, fires at a lot of dry pots, and plays big hands fast, too. What is the best line on this hand? He near potted the turn. Also...for further advice in the hand. Assume I chk-call a 400 turn bet and the river blanks. Action now? Don't bother taking one off here without position.

Pre-flop- i like mixing things up once in a while but generally i would say this is pretty lag.
Flop- I think flop is generally a fold. Turn- I think you check-raise push here. |

What hand do you hope calls a CR turn push?

We're 200bbs+ deep here, there is 1% chance he has a boat here...Why is this an instafold? (note: this player can also raise with total air)

The reverse implied odds on that flop call say it all...
Bet turn. You're behind if he puts further $$ in the pot. |

hmmm. This could be a 3, bigger fl, pos k. I like flop call, because i think his most likely hands would be, in this order, a three, a fl draw, a king, a bluff. Diamond could gin you, but i think you can get away. I like value betting the last two streets. This would be a dangerous board for him to bluff and a good board for you to get value from the three with a fl. Lead turn, fold to raise. Value bet river, fold to raise.

A raise from this player would usually mean a 3, a flush draw, or a slowplayed KK here on the flop. I don't think calling the flop is incorrect if you don't feel compelled to play for stacks if the turn is a non-pairing diamond.
As for the specific line you take after the flop, it should vary, this player is capable of making dumb large bluffs, but usually isn't putting in lots of money with a hand worse than an 8 high flush after that turn. |
