Default Top pair + flush draw 10/20

Villian is the infamous Gamble4You. I've never seen him make an overbet like this before...very strange. Although it's possible that, in the midst of multitabling, he thought the pot was like $450 and he bet his standard $420 into it. That's possible but he's typically very on top of things so I donnu.

What do I here? First of all he could be on a higher heart draw. Secondly, if I brick the river I'd really really hate to have to fold to a push where my hand may actually be good.

I'm probably just shoving here, but I also play preflop and flop differently. Who knows what Gamble has. It could be pretty close to anything, and you have outs against any hand.

420 could be a mistyped 240, no?

I would fold this. I think pushing is bad here.

Fold > Call > Push.

A push isn't ideal in this spot. If there weren't a flopped atraightish or a bunch of real 2 pairs possibilities (though he might fold some 2 pair hands) I might push but sometimes people with sets get real fidgety on a board like this

I think you have to fold here. Even if it is a misclick it seems too likely that you are not good. Small pair or suited connectors fit well with the preflop play here. I think you're definitely behind. Fold.

Hi HEK,

I think he mistyped 240. If he'd bet 240, I'd say to make it 700-800 and call a push, and this spot is not different enough; I make it 1100, and call a push in a second.

His most likely hand by far is a hand he's continuing to semi-bluff with, like 97, JT [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Ax [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], etc. He may also have flopped top pair and improved to 9s up or somesuch deal, and of course, he might've flopped a set or straight. But the semi-bluff or 2 pair are both more likely, and you're in great shape and decent shape vs. them, respectively. Don't push, because he's not folding a better hand often, and because he might be drawing worse than he thinks, if, for example, he has the nut flush draw.

If he didn't mistype, and cleverly bet that amount to simulate a mistake (with a monster), you are a 4:1 dog or so; could be worse.

I dunno, i was playing with him tonight and he was making some weird overbets. He was also making it 199 pf alot of the time. I'm almost beginning to think that when i get confused while playing against him its best to just push.
