SB checks, BB bets $10, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero folds, SB folds.

Final Pot: $16

Is this a weak fold here? I feel by calling I am opening myself up to pissing away a good portion of my stack to someone with a better straight, though he could just have something like A7 and want to push out heart/straight draws. Given his 1.25 aggro factor, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. In general, what are your experiences in this type of a situation where someone bets out twice the pot onto a scary board like this?

Thanks!

wait you folded? PUMP THAT [censored]! NOW! If you dont feel comfortable playing deep stacked or are afraid of losing profit, leave the table. This is a terrible, terrible fold. Your question here should be "Let him hang himself, or raise?" You have the 3rd nuts here, with a board that has 2prs and sets galore, and only 89 and 84 beating you. This is the epitome of weak tight.

Re-raise to $25 and pray that he pushes so you can get the lot in.

I know this was weak tight, but that is how I play. straight up, thats my style. I hate swings. I know that I do not play "proper poker" and that in so doing I will miss out on pots sometimes. I do fold at times when others would call in a heartbeat, and some of those times, it saves me money. In the longrun, playing how I know I am supposed to would result in me winning more, but I am pretty sure that how I play doesnt set me back too much. Plus if I take a hit on a hand like this, I will play like sh!t for awhile after, and that will end up costing me more money.

I do about 8PTBB/100 at party nl100 which isnt bad, and I rarely have any major swings. I probably sound crazy to most people, but what I do works and does not require me to pay alot of attention to my opponents when I am playing... I'm in med school and do all the concentrating that I can when I am studying. I take a much less intense approach to poker.

And he showed 89

is this a [censored] joke? why are you even playing this hand in the first place?

raise the flop...you are seeing monsters under the bed. hopefully the showing of the 89 hasnt already made you results oriented but i doubt it hasnt.
