Playing a naked A2 against a raise
Let's say someone raises in front of you and you hold a hand like A297, Ace is not suited with any other card. Do you still play the hand?

Full ring...I guess it's generally speaking would you call a raise with just A2

Re: Playing a naked A2 against a raise
no, you're usually against another A2 in a full game and will get no better than 1/4 if you even make a low and are not counterfeited.

Re: Playing a naked A2 against a raise
you would need some kind of read to call. most of the games i play in i would call because people are rasing with junk like QQ or whatever, but you definatly dont want to call someone who knows what they are doing.

Re: Playing a naked A2 against a raise
I normally fold offsuit junky A2 hands... main exception being is when defending against someone who often steals blinds... online I also note who raises with A3s or A4s.... I will then call with any A2xx when in position.

Re: Playing a naked A2 against a raise
with ace 2 you usually play it unless you can find a good reason to fold. reraising can be the better play many times.

Re: Playing a naked A2 against a raise
Ray, are you talking about a tight game only?
Playing shorthanded I would limp to get good implied odds to half the pot, but that's mostly it outside of a very tight game. |
