50nl - two hands against a laggish player

Here's the first hand. The two things that would make me lean towards folding here are that BB pushed into two people on the flop, not just me, and that the board didn't contain any flush draws. At the time, all I knew about him were his PT stats: 61/9/1.4. I'll give the results later after I hear some responses, as they may be important in analyzing hand #2. Note that without a read, when a villian minbets into a big pot I treat it as though he has checked to me (since the bet is miniscule). Questions, comments? Thanks, Leon |

Re: 50nl - two hands against a laggish player
Hand 1: Tough spot. It's either a draw or a monster, most of the time. OESD or two pair or better. Some of these "LAGs" like to open push to snare a nonbeliever's stack.
Hand 2: Calling a raise with QJo preflop might be a leak. Usually I find if I have to take QJo to showdown, then I'm likely to lose money. But it was just a minraise. Villain looks like he was trying to draw for cheap, donkbet flop/call a raise, donkbet turn/call a raise. It looks like 97 hit the draw, or it's a busted draw, or it's villain having you beat and making sure you don't escape with your stack. Hand 2 I can get away from easier than 1. It really comes down to how "laggish" they are. Hand 1, if you've seen him push like this before, you can venture a call. Hand 2, you might have been ahead, but now you look beat to me. Again, it depends on how abusive he has been, but I think this one leans fold more than hand 1. |

Re: 50nl - two hands against a laggish player
Great response Jack. One thing - I have QJs in the second hand (I would also fold QJo there). Also, does the mindonk often mean villian is drawing here, because I think I've seen this from other bad players as well.
