Tiny red bugs

Ok so everytime I go into my bathroom I see a few of these tiny tiny red bugs around my bathroom sink. These things are literally red dots. They appear to have 6 or 8 legs, but the legs are very very short so you can't really tell. The bugs are not much bigger than the peirod right here ---> .

They have no distinguishing features other than they are a bright red color.

They seem to be near the sink and areas where there is water, but I can't tell if they can ilve in water or not. There were also a few in the toilet bowl, but they didnt appear to be doing to well.

Any thoughts on what these are and how to get rid of them?

these things are on the cement benches outside of my dorm building all the time. they dont appear to be harmful but i dont know anything about them.

Looks like I'm in for a battle.

It's a little strange as my bathroom has no windows, and live in an urban environment. I have no plants either which seems to be a home for these guys.
