Default Bet or check the turn after a \"continuation\" bet on a missed flop?

I recently started to play 6max seriously. The tuffest desitions i find is when i raise pre flop and miss the flop and get one caller and the turn also miss but dont complete a straight or flushdraw... Should i continue with a bet or take a free card? Say i raise AKo and the flop is Q63 rainbow and the turn is a 9. I have no straight draws and i may be drawing dead if the caller has something like A6 or K6. Wich type of player should i be more careful aboute betting against? A calling station or a tight agressive player? I feel like a tight agressive player might check raise me as a bluff if i bet the turn and a calling staition will call all the way with any pair. But then again both of those types may fold to a turn bet or i may even be ahead with my AK. I tend to always bet with 2 overs but check the turn with only one overcard (say i had A5 instead) Is there some guidelines to give me here?
