Default 1/2 Bottom 2 vs. raise

No reads. Hero in the SB with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. All players have ~$200

7 folds
button (villain) limps
Hero completes
BB checks

flop ($6) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets 5. BB folds. Villain raises to 20. Hero?

I like calling and leading the turn. I can't imagine he'd bump it up to 20 with a great hand that's made already. Overpair/89-ish seem most likely.

This seems backwards. I would think he WOULD bump it to 20 with a made hand. (why slowplay this board?) And if you think that, why just call?

Because it's a small pot and there are only 3 people in it. Not much out there to protect ... he would be more concerned with losing you and getting some value out of his hand. I almost never see players manually raise 4x - it's a very big raise for most players.

Calling and leading the turn is good because then you won't get blown off your hand by a big draw (89 might push the flop). Leading the turn will protect against free cards. Leading the turn will probably get an overpair to call since he only has to fear one more street of bets and not two (3-betting the flop will usually get an overpair to fold). Leading the turn won't get you semibluffed as often. Leading the turn helps control the pot.

If the board is 67K I like a call and then a turn lead
On a board like this I like a 3bet

Maybe Im way off but here is my thinking

Up to this point I think heros hand is good more often then not. By raising the 67K board hero will fold out
most hands that he beats and only get action from better hands. By call/leading any K will have only 5 outs+a hard time folding

678 board is diffrent IMO. To many cards will kill action/make your hand second best. Make it 3bets and seriously concider a fold to a push. But hey what do I know =)
