recieved extra chips... what do you do?
alright, so last night i ended up at a fairly lousy poker club (high rake, semi-clueless dealers, no 'floor'). i really had no interest in going, but my friends needed a ride so they eventually talked me into it. after standing around watching them play and eating the free pizza for a bit, i decided i felt like playing. i had $43 in my wallet, and they were spreading $1-2 NL, $500 max buy-in. Standard buy-in seemed to be around $200 though. I thought about running to an ATM, but i wasn't sure how long my friends would be playing for.
anyhow, i go up and buy $43 in chips, figuring A) its not a whole lot of money and B) it'll alleviate my boredom. I clearly say $43, and the lady clearly tells the guy $43. he hands me my rack of chips, and i quickly eyeball it and it definitely looks like at least $43. i go back to watching the Cavs vs Pistons game on TV, and then head over to a table and start playing. there is when i actually count my chips and notice they actually gave me $93. what should i do in this situation? |

How does $93 in chips look like $43 in chips? I'm assuming she only gave you $5 and $1 chips.

If 'fairly lousy poker club' translates as underground club - I'm running to give them these chips back.

i didn't really look at the chips. i glanced at them, figured there was at least $43, and went back to watching the game. it was a pretty close and intense game.

[/ QUOTE ] it does, and i did. but my friends gave me a bunch of [censored] for it, saying it was there fault and since i'd had the chips for so long (yet i hadn't actually played a hand with them) i should keep them. morally, i'd have had no problem keeping them, but i figured it was in my best interest to return them. |

Consider it a rake free night.
No seriously, if it is just a local card room, or a dry cleaner or restaurant or other business, I'd give the $50 back. If it were a casino, I'd take it and never think twice about it. |

What I'm trying to say is if this ever happens quickly stop by the craps table. |
