This is a fold because its a speed, right? If its a regular is making it 120 from that position that bad?

[/ QUOTE ]

Good point. Yep, it's a speed. 120 wouldn't be horrible in this spot in a regular. Out of the ordinary, but not the worst play to make. Problem with leading out PF is that you can't really shove or call a huge raise.

If you get a caller or two, it would probably play out differently b/c both of the other hands would most likely check the turn. If one or both shoved there....... different story.

ps to AMT: Can't dance unless you pay the admission charge. Cover is 5% of your roll. After entry, you are 35% or so to hook up with all the best looking gals in the joint (watching a Cagney movie right now). I like the odds PF for this reason.

You'll never catch me coppers! Farging iceholes!

I would check.

Damn, I can't believe I had to read this far before I found something reasonable.

Anyhow, given the way you played this hand (meaning I cede preflop), by calling preflop, you pretty much "got what you were asking for."

Isn't it obvious that the SB probably hit his set?

fold PF. Fold to the raise PF. Check flop. Fold to the all-in.

How far behind do you think you are of a set? Answer below in white.

IMO, plays like this are part of the evolution that many 2+2ers are seeing they need to make now that most of the entire world has caught on to the tight early / push late strategy.

You can no longer get by playing only hands that have TPTK value. A hand like AJs is perfectly fine to limp and call a normal raise with as long as you have the discipline to realize that an A high flop is not what you are looking for.

Here's how I play it:
Limp, call the raise, bet 1/2 the pot. Call the all-in.

Odd that Hero played the exact same way.....

The numbers for one caller is reason enough. Plug in the KQ that was AI first and the call is automatic:
(Rounded percentages)
33: 46%
KQo: 17%
AdJd: 37%

Add to the equation any dead cards (those that were folded) and consider what hands may have called to see the flop or even limped in. Those are exactly the cards that would have helped KQ hit a boat, so his hand is essentially dead on the flop.

That leaves me as a 3:4 dog against trips and a dead hand getting better than 2.5:1 odds. Now THERE is the real inducement to play it this way start to finish.

Thanks for the numbers Sixes.

ok so lets forget preflop.

i dont like checking this flop. sb checked which likely means he missed and we have a huge amount of equity on this flop. i would bet like 350 and get allin if needed.

if checking is correct someone please tell me why.
