Tight is GOot - Playing JJ
Still seeing the occasional, I'm playing a LAG-TAG game. Guys - go with smart LAG or sLAG with s = slightly. If you're playing TAG and switching gears - great! Just say so. If someone can explain how you can have a LAG/TAG image at a single Table, let me know.
I thought I'd post a few more standard hands when playing JJ. (I'll post some more horrible hands later to maintain my tight and crappy/TAC image) JJ is my 5th most profitable hand and I play SSNL at about 3-5 PTBB/100 hands. JJ is a great hands especially 6 max but its not the nuts (74o is the nuts BTW). You do not want to play for your stack without improving. Sometimes on a draw heavy board and JJ as a overpair to the board, I'll get it in but my biggest losing hands are when people just won't muck their KK, go figure Here are 3 typical SSNL JJ hand for me. Win a small pot unimproved in the first. This is my most typical JJ hand and a very good outcome. 2nd is a full ring JJ in the blinds situation. Folding unimproved to overs and not raising into the field who won't fold if I do. Final hand is a clear fold PF...nuff said there???? YMMV as always. #1 No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $1.25</font>, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls. Re: Tight is GOot - Playing JJ
hand 1: okay
hand 2: raise preflop. c/f that flop is fine. hand 3: 3 bet, let CO push, Call when CO calls, fold when CO pushes/reraises. also, i bet if you tighten up and play a more solid game you can make more money. 3-5PTBB/100 is winning but its not 10-12PTBB/100 |

Re: Tight is GOot - Playing JJ
In hand 3 unless you have a read on shortie that says he plays tight, he could be pushing with anything. You're probably racing AKo here at worst.

Re: Tight is GOot - Playing JJ
I must respectfully disagree. #3 - Granted its 25NL but still - fold PF. I don't have the direct odds. Don't have the implied odds. 5-10 rule uses the short stack to calculate the implied odds. They're not there. FR - JJ plays more like 88 than KK.
I'll 3-bet this 6 max but full ring with UTG raise and call of $8 mean that I'm gone. Yes shortie can have anything and without UTG...I'm there. (Cue Mike Sexton voice) you can't call with JJ against a raise and an reraise. |
