Jim - as always useful post. For my future benefit, if I bet more on the turn and river, this simply leads to an easier decision or villain goes away?? Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s still something I’m not missing.
I hate this hand and having to face a all-in bet. FWIW...I tried to figure out villains holding and 89 or AT-AK. Thats all I could come up with. Since villain seemed to want to get some value out of his made hands, I gave two-pair and sets low probability. That’s as far as I got with the paltry amount of time I had. Earlier AJ hand tipped the scale. While I’d like to think I had a (super sick) read on villain, the difficulty of the decision clearly shows I didn’t. But…given I beat the range I put him on (and I'm a donkey calling station), I called. Villain shows 99, MHIG…Ship it. Closely followed by my going and rinsing the puke taste out my mouth. Cue note taking by villain that Hero overvalues TPTK. I'm getting pwned at 200NL way too much so I'm at least happy I dragged a big pot. |
