Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $80</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $290</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero ?
8 handed and villian is Play2kill or something like that. 1st time playing w/ him.

I don't think you need to worry about Button on this hand. I think reraising is pointless because then only aces will come along for the ride against you. I'm pretty sure that Button will fold if you overcall here. Just take a look at the flop and see what happens.

This is tough against an unknown, but there are two factors dictating a fold. The first is that it is 2 raises to you. And the second is that the amount of SB's raise in relation to his stack takes away calling against a very possible AA/KK for set value. You need a read that he would be doing that with AK, and lacking that, for the above two reasons, I would fold pre.

This is a good post, but it is worth noting this is a steal resteal situation (button, sb).

But it's a situation in a non-shorthanded game, with another player yet to act in the BB, and with the math being the same. So I would opt for the tighter play with no reads. And I would push before I would call.

What are your reasons for pushing that make it better than calling or reraising normally?

Are you pushing for $6672 or just raising enough to put the sb in?
