Default Traveling to Atlantic City

I typically travel to Vegas 4-6 times a year strictly for cards. I have an opportunity to be in Atlantic City this October for the first time.

What's the best place to fly in there, and how do I get to AC from there?

Decent place to stay?

Best No Limit Room (any size game $2-5 blinds and up)?

Not that there's anything more fun than poker, but is there anything else to do in that town?

Thanks ahead of time,
Kevin

Fly into Philadelphia. From there, it's probably best to rent a car and take the approximately one hour drive to Atlantic City. This will be the most convenient for you IMO, but if you'd rather not do that you can catch an NJ Transit train from Philadelphia Int'l to Atlantic City.

Denent place to stay? Depends when you're going. On a weekend, you're [censored] - you won't get a poker rate w/o prior play typically. On a week day, you can stay at many of the casinos cheap. Not sure how poker rates work on your first visit, but the casinos are nice to stay at. Taj, Trop, Resorts, Borg, etc. If it's a peak period (weekend), there are hotels in nearby Absecon that are fine. Use expedia and go with a chain.

Borg has many NL games. 2-5 (200 min/500 max), 5-10 (not sure on min, 1500 max), 10-25 (No cap) runs on weekends...this game plays quite large. Trop has NL too, I know they have 1-2/2-5, 5-10 sometimes. Taj has 1-2, 2-5 most of the time.

Other stuff to do: The Walk, nice area w/ outlet shops, restaurants, etc, in the middle of town. The Trop's "Quarter" attraction is AWESOME with lots of nightlife and high end restaurants...def a cool spot. Borgata has clubs (Mixx) and lots of cool bars to just hang at plus lots of eye candy wandering around. Nice restaurants in parts of AC.

Let me know if you need to know anything else.

Jeff

Kevin,

I live in Kansas City also, and go to Vegas to play golf/cards 10 times a year. Looking to head out to A/C for a card trip during the summer/fall season.

Since the forum suggests Philly. You can get Southwest fare of under $200 to Philly. BTW I have booked fares to Vegas for the next months for $125 RT out of Kansas City.

If you play VP I can help you out on abusing marketing systems for free rooms.

I think the 2/5 at the Borgata is 100 min/500 max and 5/10 is 200 min/1000 max.

The Taj also has a regular 2/5 nl games running with the same spread.

There are plenty of things to do, especially on the boardwalk. There are also a bunch of new outlets and stuff in the middle of the city where it actually looks really nice that you may want to check out.
