99 in PP Super, facing odd push
UTG+1 hasn't been at the table long, and he won most of his chips by pushing mid pair and hitting a backdoor flush. Other then that he hasn't done anything too unusual.

Re: 99 in PP Super, facing odd push
I'm folding this pretty quick, you have plenty FE and this screams the usual donkalicious (excuse me if I'm offending anyone) limp/push AA/KK - not a big fan but I'm mucking this quick - at best you're flippin' vs AK.

I think this is a smaller pair a lot of the time. I say call, double-up, and move on. |

Re: 99 in PP Super, facing odd push
The problem here for me was UTG+1 was the second one into the pot and he limped. I just dont see AA/KK/QQ doing that, I thought it was much more likely he had a low PP and didnt want to see a flop. I think his range is much wider then just AA/KK/AK, but how wide is it?

I don't know if I raise the 99 here, though. Is that weak on my part? |

Re: 99 in PP Super, facing odd push
ive been seeing a lot of the odd limp push with AK+ lately.
even after a limper or 2 JJ 1010 definite possibilities i feel ur pain btw i also raise with 99 instead of limping and i prolly talk myself into believing he did that with small pp and wants to be shown AK i sense villian has AK though |

Re: 99 in PP Super, facing odd push
Very tricky. You see this all the time with PPs, and sometimes with AK, occasionally, obviously, with any garbage. Unless the guy is a complete idiot, he's not limping behind from EP with QQ+ unless the table has been punishing limpers regularly or unless he figures a SS for an all-in raise behind.
10s and I would be minded to call. 88 and I would be minded to muck. 99 seems pretty much smack bang in the middle of his range so my decision would be based on how the table is playing. If it's tight enough that I am likely to have FE after calling and losing and can get somehwre playing push/fold, I'd be more tempted to call. Also, if I feel that I am likley to be outplayed and my MS get whittled away, I might gamble here. |

Re: 99 in PP Super, facing odd push
I very much prefer a limp to a raise w/ 99 in this spot, if either of them call you pf, you're going to have to wonder what they limpcalled 3k for, if someone behinds you calls, ur probably in big trouble, if you see a flop you're usually going to see @ least 1 overcard, if someone comes over the top of your raise, you're going to puke and you might as well have 27o. That said, UTG+1's range can vary a lot depending on your opponent. Simply, you don't have enough info. UTG+1 could be very bad and is reraising AI w/ 22. He could be one of those people who limps behind a limper w/ AA (I have seen it done.) Granted, those are aberrations. If you were going to avg. it out, for the most part this looks like AQs+, 88-JJ, in which case this is a call by far w/ the odds you're getting. Again, I limp behind for the 600 instead of raising these UTG and UTG+1 limpers.
