Omega used to be awesome, but they were bought by Swatch or what have you. I'd say go with the Bretling.

nothings wrong with omega being owned by the swatch corp. (i didnt even know it was)

swatch owns ETA and Valjoux, which makes movements. Omega, breitling, TAG, cartier, ebel, etc use almost exclusively non-in house movements made by ETA and friends. not only that, but super high end brands like UN and IWC use some ETA movements (albieit dressed up). those mfg. are >>>>>>rolex

Longines have nice watches, and they are about the price range u are looking at.
