Another comp-tard asking about external hard drives
I'd been thinking about getting an external drive to run my music files off of, back up my other files too, and just use for general storage. So i'm in Staples this morning and they've got a Western Digital 250Gig external drive for $90 after rebates. Seems like a good deal, so I pick one up.
Before I crack the box open though, I was wondering if anybody has any thoughts on WD drives - did I get a good deal, or will I regret this? Any experience with them? Recommendations for using an external drive/ moving things/backing up? Thanks! |

Re: Another comp-tard asking about external hard drives
I'm an anti-Maxtor, pro-Seagate HDD kind of guy.
The bottom line. HDDs fail on occassion. You're Western Digital will be fine. I've used several WD external HDD at my place of work. All without issue so far. |

I did a little checking (newegg) and it looks like I got a pretty good deal on it pricewise, and their reviews of it look pretty good too.
thanks for the response T! |

Re: Another comp-tard asking about external hard drives
I've been running a couple WD externals always-on for a year on one andmore than that on the other. Held up extremely well so far to near constant use on t*rrents, for one thing.
