This kind of thing happens. Your first mistake is that you didnt raise preflop.

Dude, SSHE does not say (I don't think) "never fold a flush." It's more like "don't fold a flush in a big pot just becuase the board pairs" and "don't automatically think you are beat if you have a flush draw and the board pairs." Anyhow...

I can go for a raise UTG with KQo. SSHE recommends a limp I know, but my issues with some SSHE preflop recomendations are well documented on this board. Raise it (and AJo while you are at it). Seriously, if you are not comfortable with an open raise with KQo this is a sign you might not should even be playing it.

You got a card you were looking for on the turn. Plus you have 9 outs to the third nuts. I raise here. A case could possibly be made for calling here and raising the river, but i perfer a turn raise (the latter is not a horrible line though). Value bet the river.

Raise preflop.

Raise the flop.

Raise the turn.

Bet the river.

Hands like this aren't why you are in the red, it's because you are too passive. Only two cards beat you on the river, why aren't you betting?

raise PF, bet the flop, raise the turn, bet the river.

Edit: Read some of the other posts, I thought SB checked the flop--I agree with raising here.
