Default Help me plan my first trip to Vegas (baby)

Ok, here's the skinny. I am making my first trip to vegas Memorial Day Weekend. I am staying at the Tropicana.

Here's my schedule:

Thursday Morning: Arrive. Start week with a good long session at the MGM Grand (right across the street)
Friday: Get over to one of the big rooms (Bellagio or Wynn) before 4 PM to get a table. Get my rear end planted and await tourists.
Saturday: Get my ass to one of hte big rooms somewhat early (and by early, i mean before 5 PM), probably whatever room i didn't play friday night.
Sunday: Sleep in, probably take a mini break from poker, probably hit up the MGM early afternoon, maybe hit up the mirage for late sunday night games.
Monday: What rooms should i go to that I haven't hit yet? Any problems with my earlier schedule/advice/etc?

I love Mandalay and I've done well there. That's real close to the Trop.

Given that you may be a little burned out by the end of your run, why not pay a visit to Binion's? A touristy move indeed, but there is history to consider downtown.

Have a great trip! When you return it will be difficult for you to ever play again in Detroit.

Its almost nearly impossible to get me to play Live in detroit as it is now. Detroit casino poker = laughing stock.

I second the Mandalay recommendation. Go after 6pm to avoid the local rocks from Henderson and catch the tourists. The games are SOFT.

As long as you're staying at the Trop you've got to walk over to Hooters and check it out. I've heard they have 2 or 3 poker tables and it's a good place to play drunk.

If you don't want to see a really good show (I suggest Blue Man Group) try the Comedy Stop at the Trop (always good).

1st time in LV you've got to dump at least $100 at a strip club (even though the girls only pretend to like you).

One really good buffet (Alladin?)

Some touristy stuff (Hoover Dam?)

If you're into thrill rides visit the ones at the top of the Stratosphere (you'll need more guts than 20 of me).

Don't just play poker on your first trip. Be the 'hick' and check the place out, there's a lot to see.

Mandalay is a very small room. I played 1/2nl, and i think they also had 3/6 limit(not sure). The nl games were always a must move, so eventually you end up at the main table with a bunch of regulars... Just my 2 cents.

Hooters is an absolute DIVE... However, the poker room (table?) did look to be filled with drunks.
