Default Re: Are there any benefits to sitting in a sauna after workout?

[ QUOTE ]
What is the best treament for minor stretches? For example, sometimes after I play racquetball I feel as if I may have slightly stretched some muscles in my right shoulder. What's the best play in this situation? Heat or ice?

[/ QUOTE ]
Immediately after any exercise or injury, ice to reduce inflammation.

During recovery, it's a good idea to get some blood flow to the muscles or injury area to start the healing process. Alternating heat and ice seems to be the way to go. In the thread about hand grip exercises, I think Blarg or someone else mentioned contrast baths being a good way to help with recovery and healing. That seems to confirm this advice.
