Default Flopping a straight with improvement possible: play slow or fast?

I'm pretty new to online poker, been playing in an off again on again home tournament. CO only sat down a few hands before and hadn't played outside of the blinds. Hadn't seen any of his cards.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
6 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $29.50
UTG+1: $97.35
CO: $96.05
Hero: $95.60
SB: $81.65
BB: $75.55

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, <font color="#cc0000">CO raises to $5</font>, Hero calls, 3 folds.

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12.5, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">CO bets $7</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $33.5</font>, CO calls.

Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($79.5, 2 players)
CO checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero is all-in $57.1</font>, CO calls.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($193.7, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $193.7)

Results:
Final pot: $193.7

Don't show results, move this to SSNL, and he wasn't going anywhere w/ the K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

The turn push looks pretty bad from here. I don't play NL ring, but does it really have value (i.e. is a non-flush going to call the push?) In LHE you would normally check behind on the turn and then call the river. I'm guessing it is the same in NL though it probably depends a lot on the player and bet size.

I wouldn't have gone all in on the turn... not with 4 to a flush. I would have checked the turn. I like the flop bet though.
