First session of NL, ever (50NL)
And this hand comes up. In limit, this is fairly easy to play. Here I thought I played fine, though I could have been a little more aggressive. Table coach gave me a lot of [censored] for it. Just making sure I wasn't crazy:

Re: First session of NL, ever (50NL)
I would usually shove the flop. Either that or fold the turn. Looks like he really likes his hand and you're not getting good enough odds to chase (since I doubt K's or T's are outs)

I'd pot this flop and push when he CR.

Re: First session of NL, ever (50NL)
welcome to NL. get used to loving combo big draws/made hands like this. shove the flop after his C/R because:
1) you have a lot of equity right now against his range 2) much of that equity is likely lost if you make one of your draws, since he may not call if a Q or a heart hits 3) it's great for image also, make a point of playing your sets the same as your big draws. for those who are paying any attention (not too likely at this level yet), this will give them fits trying to put you on a hand. |
