Default PSA regarding pelvic x rays and genitals

i've been having back pain and went to the dr. really good looking lady. so she sends me into another room for xrays, i have 'em done and go back to my exam room. in she comes and puts them up on the back-lit board and there is my spine and my pelvis and my penis.

talk about an elephant in the room, or a mouse as it were.

so shes using a pen and pointing at my penis and telling me that my L5 looks ok and discs this and i chuckled and said well, this is akward. shes asked me what and i gave her the "c'mon" look. she grinned and told me not to worry, happens all the time.

so folks, when getting lowerback/pelvis xrays position yourself so your junk is in betwixt your legs not laying on your stomach.

cue george constanza: shrinkage, it was cold in there. its shrinkage.

I would think a better PSA would be to make sure you get your boys shielded with lead before the x-ray.

This exact same thing happened to me when I was 12 or 13. I had to get pelvic X-rays and my little tiny boy penis was right there. My mom and some lady doctor were in the room looking at the X-rays with me. If you felt awkward, imagine being 13, having just started puberty, infinitely self-conscious, and being in the room with not only a doctor, but your mom. Awesome.
