Essays from the Edge
I thought some of you might find this interesting:
http://www.edge.org/q2006/q06_print.html#rees (you'll have to scroll down a bit to get to the essays) [ QUOTE ] The Edge Annual Question — 2006 WHAT IS YOUR DANGEROUS IDEA? The history of science is replete with discoveries that were considered socially, morally, or emotionally dangerous in their time; the Copernican and Darwinian revolutions are the most obvious. What is your dangerous idea? An idea you think about (not necessarily one you originated) that is dangerous not because it is assumed to be false, but because it might be true? [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Essays from the Edge
Purnell,
When I saw your subject post I thought I might find some essays of yours from some obscure “corner” of the planet or perhaps a trip report from an out of body experience. Nevertheless, good to see you posting (maybe you have been and haven’t seen any). I haven’t posted much lately either. I seem to be somewhat brain dead so far this new year. RJT |

Re: Essays from the Edge
Thanks for the link. A few of those are fascinating and I think spot on, a few of them dangerously stupid.

Re: Essays from the Edge
Very good reads indeed. The 2005 question was very fascinating also; What do you believe is true even though you cannot prove it?
Most of you probably read this already, but for those who hasn't: a lot of food for thought is to be found here. Scroll down and let the fun begin |
