[ QUOTE ]
Raising this preflop 8-handed seems kind of silly.

[/ QUOTE ]

I will raise in this situations with better hands, but only as a value raise, i.e. I know that it will only narrow it to 4 or 5 people, but on average I'm going to have a better starting hand. It's like counting cards in blackjack and varying bet sizes.

Also, at this level with a lot of people seeing the flop, I find that preflop raising does the following:

1. In raised pots, there are select few who start playing aggressively. I think they are acting as table policemen. It's ok to limp in and play pot, but how dare anyone raise preflop. They will teach you lesson.

2. I find it easy to throw away my hand if I didn't hit it.

3. If no one hits nuts, play can be passive and people might price you in to a nut draw on turn or river.

3 limpers starting from mp2, my KK has one suit and 2-4 combo, I raise this almost everytime IF there are no shortstacks in the blinds or among limpers. If your opponents can deduce from your pf raise that you have a big pair there is a big error somewhere.

As played I also check flop, raise turn and check river (no way will I value-bet here and a bluff makes even less sense.

If these guys play horribly postflop, calling pf might be better thou.

Raise the turn, and either pot or check the river.

So did the river really complete a flush draw? I have trouble wrapping my brain around some of the OP if the third [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is not a typo.

Yes, my flush won the pot. And I don't have any idea why the third dude called..must have misread the board.

This topic needs the Alex Powers TV quote "He called with Jack high! "

I think that's probably a new one for me in omaha but I don't check what people muck every hand.
