Default Some Love for the Cincinnati Reds!

I have already said repeatedly that I do not believe this is a playoff team, but with three threads on Mariners topics, there is room to talk about a team that is winning right now. This team is 14-7 and leads the MLB in runs scored, HRs, and BBs. Less than half of their games have been played at home, so the stadium cannot account for all of it. Yes I know that they may have the worst bullpen in the Majors, and one of the worst rotations, but this hot start deserves some props.

they almost lead the league in runs against too. nice to see them to well, but they have also been playing some bad teams (Pit, Fla, Was)

I'll give props to the 1869 Reds, but I'm holding back 2006 props til the all-star break

Yo, I'm from Brooklyn and love the Reds... Though they have one of the worst rotations and their premier pitcher (at least the pitcher they're paying to be a premier pitcher is on the DL, Eric Milton), they have some, and I stress SOME, future in Brandon Phillips, Kearns, Dunn even, Lopez, Freel, Arroyo, Harang, prob not Claussen, of course Edwin Encarnacion and Ryan Wagner... but they need to sure up their rotation with Elizardo Ramirez and possibly, just possibly Dave Williams... other than that they're weak at the catcher and first base postitions (Hatteberg???? and either David Ross or Jason LaRue at C???)... They might look good soon if the Brewers don't improve and the Cardinals age like they are already.

grew up near Cincy listening to Marty and Joe (the Reds announcers for those who don't know).

My Dad and I have been exchanging e-mails about how amazed we are at their hot start.

Reminds me of 2 or 3 yrs ago when they had the best record in the majors as last as Memorial Day and ended up finishing about 25 games out of first.

Would be nice for them to hang in there long enough to warrant adding another arm or two for a stretch run.

David Weathers is looking decent though.
