put all your money in. If he has QQ or 88 it happens, but not a big deal.

Re: 3/6 nl flopped set turns into a boat...
If he were big blind, he could have Q8. Now it's still possible of course, but a bit more unlikely.
My guess is he has a Queen and doesn't believe you. Your raise on the flop represents a set, a Q, MAYBE 8 or a flush draw. Your almost full pot bet on the turn rules out (or at least makes significantly more unlikely) an 8 or FD. But if you had a good Queen you would have raised preflop. So he figures you must have a set or be full of it. His river bet could be a blockbet, hoping you won't bluff because you're afraid he has an eight. Or he has Q8. Tough break. OR, now that I think of it, if he doesn't think you have a Q and calls down with a Q.. why not with an 8? Also, albeit to a lesser degree because of his position, the same logic applies to him - he can't really have a good Q either. In the end, I think he either has Q8 or you're winning. Shove it in. |

Re: 3/6 nl flopped set turns into a boat...
Ok, you can rule out QQ based on preflop and flop play.. looks like 88 would push the turn.
That leaves him with Qx, or flush draw, maybe even 8cxc. Of those hands, you're only behind Q8 ( which would probably raise turn or 3-bet flop but obviously not always ) so I would push and hope to get called by 8x of clubs. |
