Default Trash on the button.

Was on the button with 8 5 of hearts. The blinds were 8000 - 16000, the ante was 800 and the game 9-handed, making it 31200 in the pot. We were in the money with no big prizejumps in quite some while, and overall the game was pretty typical and tight. The average stack was closing 200000. I had between 110000 and 120000 in chips and made the mistake moving all in when everyone folded before me and getting busted...
What do you think of this play?

What was your image?

I don't mind it, your 40-60 against AK, the situation here was right if your gong to do this. Although expect less respect from the button of course.

I like it. Your M* is between 3 and 4, everyone folded to you, so you have "first in vigorish", the range of hands that calls you probabably doesn't dominate you.

I think a push here is standard.

If this helps you feel better, here's CardPlayer.com's account of Freddy Deeb's bust from the 2006 WPT Championship:

Freddy Deeb moves all in preflop for his last $83,000 and Erica Schoenberg calls from the big blind with Kc-8c. Deeb turns over 9h-4h and the board comes Jd-7h-6c-3h-10c. Freddy Deeb has been eliminated from the tournament.

Your hand is much better than Freddy's, so you must be ok!

Looks like a good push to me. When the pot increases your stack by >25% you don't need a whole lot of fold equity to be pushing any two on the button.

I push that pretty much every time, don't beat yourself up. You played it right.

According to the pushbotting charts, from the button - you could go all in w an M of 7.5 in a tight table and 5 in a moderately loose table. So, you're well within the numbers.

I would have linked to the pushbot charts -- but dont know how. Just search for a post on "pushbotting" within the last week.
