Dude, they asked "Are you leaving?" It's not like they're prying into your personal life. It's "their business" in that you've been playing poker with them and they're asking if you're leaving.

Usually, if someone asks me this, I say "Yeah," they say "See you later," and I say "Later." I don't see why you perceive this as so confrontational or feel the need to make a big deal about it.
