Re: New sheets are scratchy
[ QUOTE ]
wacki, thread counts reach a point to where you cannot tell the difference. [/ QUOTE ] agreed. I also never said my minimum. [ QUOTE ] Also, the fibers and the finish of those fibers are what's truly important. It's fairly difficult to tell the difference between 400 TC sheets and 600 TC sheets. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed, btw and many 200 TC can feel softer than 400 TC sheets. 200 TC is percale and should be the minimum for anyone IMO. 250 should be adequate for most. Fine, if you want to get technical I'd suggest 300+ Thread count combed (not carded) Egyptian cotton with an average staple of greater than 1 inch. Sateen or Linen weave is a matter of taste. man I feel like a pedantic douche right about now. :-p |

For those who are not aware JBB lives in Chelsea, NYC. Chelsea is the predominantly gay area of NYC (famous for it's Chelsea Boys).
Since JBB is now posting topics about sheets, its makes me wonder.... TT |

Re: New sheets are scratchy
I'm very annoyed. I bought some cotton 600 thread count sheets, washed them twice, and they are crap. They feel like scratchy hotel sheets and they cost me about $100.

Re: New sheets are scratchy
How much will the various TC's set you back? Are 600's significantly more expensive (say, double the price) of 400's?
I may have to buy some nice sheets for myself, you guys seem to think it is quite important... |
