Hand 1: You should probably fold pre-flop. Otherwise make a standand raise.
Hand 2: (EDIT: I didn't see this was an all-in by a shorty). You need to be pretty read dependent here to make this call. It matters to me A)How he lost his chips (suckouts or bad play?) and B) How recently he lost chips (is he likely frustrated and just looking to get it over with?). From there I can make by decision if it is worth 16BB to race. Your best bet is that he is playing Ax and you have him dominated. EDITED AGAIN: If you are going to play against a short-stack all-in, you really need to isolate and push all-in. The last thing you want is someone calling behind you like happened here. |

Hand 1 all I can really tell you is that for me it depends. That hand is about how often you win the blinds with a raise there. At 50/100 I would think raising is more important since you take chips away from the short stack but here its pretty close.
Hand 2 personally I would not call the short stacks push but if you are going to I think you should try to isolate. As played I bet the flop. Your best chance at making money with top 2 here IMO is if he has another A so I just bet and he hope he is ready to get it all in with top pair. |

Hand 1: fold the blinds are not big enough to care about
Hand 2: Fold. It is early the blinds are insignificant and you have a big stack behind you. If you are going to play this hand you need to push all-in to isolate the short stack. You cannot invite the BB into this pot by calling. I think this is a clear folding hand in this spot. Why call 12BB raise with ATo? |

Yeah I agree with both being folds although I don't think the first one is a terrible one to raise. I'd fold the 2nd and let 'em get on with it.
