interesting puzzle...
Imagine the following scenario in a full ring game where everyone involved has full 100BB stacks:
You are in middle position with a low pocket pair, say 55. Someone Minraises in front of you, you call, and someone behind you Minraises again. The original early position minraiser Minraises yet again, and the action is on you. You have correct implied odds to call again, so you do. Unfortunately the late position minraiser Minraises yet again, and the early position Minraiser repeats the action. You have correct implied odds to call yet again. BUT, if you keep calling two minraises at some point you and the two other players will be All In preflop. You cannot expect to have the 34% requisite equity going All In preflop against 2 other players to make this +EV, as at least one of the Villains probably has a higher Pocket Pair, yet at no point in the hand do you not have correct implied odds- in fact, at a certain point you'll also have correct pot odds as well. How can you play this hand so that you do not fold while getting good odds but not going All In preflop taking the worst of it? |

Re: interesting puzzle...
it's fairly simple, when you realize what's going on you know you don't have implied odds, so you fold.

Re: interesting puzzle...
I'd move all in on both of them, or just fold and tell them they are gay.

Re: interesting puzzle...
In actually, fold and report collusion. But assuming you mean puzzle in the sense that theres a solution, my guess would be to raise to like 25 the second time it comes to you. Now when they min raise you probaly won't have pot or implied odds and can fold.

Re: interesting puzzle...
Your considering implied odds but not implied threat.
i refer to the minbet battles as "pissing contests", and its never good to be in the middle of a pissing contest. |

The first time? When can you be sure they won't just finally call and see a flop? The second go round? Can you really fold for $1 preflop with almost $8 already in the pot? The damndest thing is that the more times you call, the BETTER the pot odds get. |

Re: interesting puzzle...
solution: Stop playing with retards that do minraise-reraises. ie. don't play for "play money". ;-) Just kidding...and I may fold to the first minraise, that sort of stupid raise sort of asks to be made into a proper raise later down the line.
