WPEX error message every time I play

Every time I open up WPEX I get the following error within the first 30 mins

Something about parameters...then

Message Canvas does not allow drawing

the screen then freezes. I don't want to draw, I want to play poker...any computer whizz give me a hand with this.

Any help would be much appreciated...i'm a complete fish, so any help will most definetly be +ev for you!!
