Emigrant has referral bonuses? Do we both get a bonus? If so, you can PM me at "Patrick's PM".

Unless it has changed recently, Emigrant does not have a referral bonus.

I find the interface at ING to be 100X better than Emigrant Direct.

I used both and stuck wiht ING.

and better than HSBC's but HSBC is clearly the smartest option. I have accounts at all 3.

Use Bankrate.com to monitor the best rates and specify "Rate After Intro". HSBC is 4.70%/4.80% APY: Bankrate.com

Waiting to see how things settle out in the next 2 weeks.

Fed Fund(now at 4.75%) will be pushed to 5.00% w/ 99% probability at the next meeting and fed fund futures late last week were signaling 50% or better chance that in 2 more meetings the rate will go up to 5.25%.

WSJ friday edition had an article saying that rate raises may be winding down thu.

Either way the best online savings rates seem to mimic the fed funds rate moreso 3-month(4.58%) and 6 month(4.72%)us treasuries...so rates should continue upward at least over the next couple months.

Alright, so I wasn't able to see how I would link another bank account to my neteller account (which would be better than a 2nd neteller), so I e-mailed Neteller support. They said not only can you not have a 2nd bank account linked to your neteller, you can't link to an online bank at all.

[ QUOTE ]
NETELLER currently does not support having more than one bank account linked to NETELLER account. Also, as online banks are not as secure as regular banks, you are not able to use these with our system.

What are you guys doing - going from Emigrant/ING/HSBC to your "B&M" bankd and then to Neteller and then to the poker site?

I have my Neteller and ING accounts linked right now, and have for over a year. So unless this is a new development and they haven't caught me yet, you shouldn't have a problem connecting the two. I think they must mean online-only banks (there is/was one called Netbank that had no B&M presence).

I switched from my B&M bank to ING on Neteller about a month ago. I recommend using the Live Support option that Neteller offers. Not only can you get it done, but you can get it done instantly. You will never be able to link your currently linked bank account EVER AGAIN. However, that was a price I was willing to accept. Hope this helps.

I tried to apply to HSBC since I saw your post.
They suck. Applied last week, got a confirmation
email but it said my application was pending.

I linked my checking account and waited 2 days
and then confirmed the microdeposits.
Submitted an initial EFT deposit of $2500.

No email/phone-call from them, so I called and they
said I needed to send in proof of address
documentation so I did.

No reply next day so I call them again and they say wait
24-48 hours and someone will email or call me. Nobody
did.

I call again today (2 days later) and they say wait
another 24-48 hours and that the processing department
is closed, only open Mon-Fri 800-430PM Eastern time, WTF.

I wish they'd just tell me what they still need from
me to approve a simple online savings account and
stop making broken promises!
Except *I* need to keep calling them every 2 days.

It's not a good sign when an online bank responds
poorly when an issue come up.

I probably just have bad luck with them for some reason.
On the other hand, opening an ING account was super-easy
and I got a bonus which is probably more $$$ than the
time wasted with HSBC to get an extra 0.x% interest.
