Default AKo vs Donk 3 Handed 2/4 NL

Have been sitting at this table for about 40 hands. Villain, who I have never seen before is a maniac, in 2/3rds of pots raising a 1/3rd. I have already called down his river steal attempts twice to which he has shown nothing. He was doing well before i arrived but I have taken him down from 600 to around 300.

(6 max) - $2/$4 - No Limit Hold'em - 6:02:57 ET - 2006/04/21
Seat 1: Player A ($304.60)
Seat 3: Villian ($331)
Seat 5: hero ($705.70)
hero posts the small blind of $2
Player A posts the big blind of $4
The button is in seat #3
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to hero [Ks Ac]
Villian raises to $14
hero raises to $46
Player A folds
Villian calls $32
*** FLOP *** [2c 7s 4s]
hero checks
Villian checks
*** TURN *** [2c 7s 4s] [5c]
hero bets $40
Villian calls $40
*** RIVER *** [2c 7s 4s 5c] [Th]
hero checks
Villian bets $176
hero calls $176
*** SHOW DOWN ***

Thoughts?

I generally don't like bloating pots OOP... I also don't bet that turn against a maniac with nothing.

I don't mind pre-flop if you pot the flop but yes, bloating the pot with AK against that type of opponent is not necessary. As played, I would check/call turn and possibly river.

this is bad.

If hes truly donktastic (never folding always betting), I can just call PF if it looks to heads up (If he raises, there are many callers, good time for squeeze). But against crazies HU, I like calling here.

However, if you do rr pf, cbet flop. As played, fold river.

Yea, you're gonna miss 2/3 of flops here, if hes the type to never fold the flop, dont reraise preflop.

as it stands, calling him down with ace high is meh at best, terrible at worst.

He showed KJ. I agree no need for the preflop agression, I guess my thinking is get money in while i think i'm ahead.
